Slats, Folding Board, or AirDeck? Choosing the Ideal Floor for Your PVC Boat

The Bottom Flooring (Paiol) is one of the most crucial tuning elements for a PVC boat, fulfilling several critical functions at once: it provides floor rigidity, allows for stable standing in the boat, and protects the tubes from damage. The choice of paiol directly depends on your boat type and usage conditions.

In our catalog, we feature three main types of floorings:

1. Slatted Flooring (Slatted Mat)

• Purpose: Used in rowing and small motor flat-bottom boats.

• Construction: Several sections (slats) made of water-resistant plywood (usually 9 mm) with an anti-slip coating, connected by PVC fabric.

• Advantages: Lightweight, compact, quick to install. Provides partial bottom protection and allows for cargo transfer.

2. Rigid Floorboard (Folding Paiol or Sectional)

• Purpose: Optimal for motor boats and keel boats (V-shaped bottom), where high rigidity is required.

• Folding Paiol (Slan-Knishka): A single structure made of water-resistant plywood sheets connected by PVC tapes. Folds like an "accordion." The paiol covers 100% of the bottom, significantly improving seaworthiness and directional stability.

• Sectional Paiol with Stringers: Consists of separate plywood or aluminum sheets, fixed into a rigid frame using longitudinal aluminum profiles (stringers). Provides the maximum rigidity necessary for powerful motors.

3. Inflatable Floor (AirDeck)

• Purpose: A universal solution for any boat type where comfort, lightweight, and quick assembly are prioritized.

• Construction: High-pressure inflatable floor (up to 0.8 Bar), consisting of two layers of PVC connected by thousands of synthetic threads (honeycomb structure).

• Advantages: Softness and shock absorption (comfortable to stand on), extremely lightweight, quick assembly/disassembly (inflated with an electric high-pressure pump).
